Habitat:

Forests and woodlands in suburban areas, commonly planted, increasingly escaping and naturalizing; native of China. Nandina has numerous cultivated forms, and is widely planted in the Piedmont and Coastal Plain of our area, especially southward. Leaflet shape varies in cultivated forms from broadly ovate to linear.
